Founder’s Message
To my audiences, I am Maria Tran and a Vietnam War’s victim and survivor. I grew up inside the army base and running to the bunker several times a night. This bunker was also my father’s canon command headquarter station, next to my house. I got use to the blast and the explosion, and seeing people die every day like a normal thing. I learned how to survive in the time of crisis or dangerous environment from very early stage in my life.
After 1975 I moved to Japan and 10 years later moved to America with my son 8 years old. My son now serves in the U.S Air force. My responsibility as a single parent has been fulfilled. I have more time to serve others in our communities. My 21 years working in healthcare, legal, education and social services in America had shed a light on me. Anti-Asian among other hate crimes have caused negative impacts to our nation regarding public safety, economy, and national strength. This epiphany moment had led me to become a human rights activist and a fighter for social injustice in many fields. I see the need to work on the campaign for Vietnam War’s Veterans after witnessed how a Vietnamese colonel had been treated in the hospital in 2021in Minnesota and died a month later in a nursing home unexpectedly. It was about human right and dignity. Those who served America in the Vietnam War’s deserve to be recognized as veterans with healthcare benefit.
I am now a West DS city Council member term 2022-2026, public board member in the board of nursing in Mn since 2023, and an advisor of Criminal Juvenile Justice Bureau from the League of Minnesota cities 2023-2025.

I have been working on my 1st book: “Exiles and The Promised Land- Modern Slavery in America”
I will use my life experiences in the Vietnam War and post Vietnam War to show the world why we need to build a peaceful world for humans on Earth.
